Belief Statement

The Triune God: We believe in one true and living God, the all-powerful Creator and Sustainer of all things visible and invisible, who eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and are worthy of precisely the same worship, trust, and obedience. (John 1:1-3Hebrews 1:1-3)

The Bible: We believe the Bible—the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments—is the divinely inspired word of God, by which we mean that the human authors were divinely guided to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, the whole Bible as written in the original manuscripts are true, infallible and without error. The Bible is God’s written revelation of His works of creation and redemption of which Jesus Christ is its climax and central focus. As the written revelation of God’s will for His people, the Bible properly interpreted and applied in its literary, grammatical, and historical contexts, serves as the final authority and guiding light for Christian life and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-172 Peter 1:19-21)

Salvation: We believe that all human beings are separated from their loving Creator because of their sin and, apart from God’s saving intervention, all would be eternally condemned by righteous divine judgment. Because of God’s mercy and love, He provided just such intervention by sending His Son, Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. In the fulness of time, God the Son took on a true human nature though birth to a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitute for sinful humans. On the third day, the Lord Jesus was raised again to life, never to die again, and through the gospel, He now invites all people to surrender their lives and trust in Him alone for the forgiveness of sins and receive the gift of eternal life. We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone; God has provided no other means of salvation apart from conscious trust in the atoning work of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3.236:235:8Ephesians 2:1-9Galatians 4:4-5John 3:1614:6Acts 2:383:194:121 Peter 3.18)

The Church: We believe the local church is a worshipping community, a family of believers united by our love for God and faith in Jesus. Together, we seek to lovingly shine the light of Jesus into a world darkened by sin and in desperate need of redemption. The mission of the church is to make disciples, inviting sinners to become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ and equipping believers to take the Good News of Jesus to every sphere of life. (Matthew 28.18-202 Corinthians 5.16-21)
